We’ve all been there. You rub your eyes, forgetting you just sliced jalapeños or added a pinch of chili powder to something. Ouch.
Our chefs say it’s nbd: Instead of getting rid of the ingredient altogether, rub your hands with cooking oil (any will do) after handling peppers or chili powder. Then wash them with dish soap and water. This breaks down and neutralizes the oils that irritate the skin.
Voilà! No more crying while cooking!
